Where to find free healthy meals for children ages 18 and under from NCPTA:

First and foremost, we want to express our appreciation for all the work you do to support our kids, our schools, and their communities, every day, and particularly in this time of challenge facing COVID-19. We are learning about more resources for school districts and for community feeding options for K-12 kids every day.  Here are a few key updates:

WHERE to FIND FREE, HEALTHY MEALS for KIDS, Ages 18 and under
Please share these resources broadly – they are being updated regularly.
• Text FOODNC to 877-877 to receive a text with drive-thru or pick-up sites with meals for kids closest to you.
• Use the mapping tool at http://nokidhungrync.org/covid19/ to find drive-thru/pick-up sites with meals for kids across NC.
• Visit https://bit.ly/2QmShwT for updates from school districts and community partners serving meals — including info on additional options such as bus drop-off meals.

NON-CONGREGATE FEEDING WAIVER
The non-congregate feeding waiver was approved on March 12, 2020 and alternative sites have 60 days to apply.  Please click on the following link to NC DPI’s web site for more details. https://childnutrition.ncpublicschools.gov/

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SCHOOL NUTRITION TEAM
Please support your local school’s school nutrition services team by reaching out to them and saying thanks for continuing to feed our students. You can also ask if there is anything you can do to support their efforts during this crisis – including offering volunteer support if you are available to assist. A simple thank you can go a long way to support a fellow human being in a stressful time.

As we have more resources to share, we will send them out to you via direct messages (like this one), as well as through our facebook / twitter social media pages and on our web site. For now, please share the following information broadly on your available platforms and circles. If you need help accessing meals for your child during this outbreak situation, contact us at NCPTA.  We are happy to help you.

In the meantime, take good care of yourselves and of each other.

What is All for Conn?

All For Conn is our school's annual no-muss, no-fuss fundraiser. It's 100% tax deductible with no company that takes a BIG share of our school's fundraising dollars.

$30,000 is our annual goal. That is the minimum needed to cover program expenses that the PTA supports at Conn Magnet Elementary School; programs that would otherwise go unfunded.

Ways to Donate:

  • Give your one-time best gift online via memberhub.
  • Set up reoccurring monthly paymentsor one-time best gift, via PayPal using a credit or debit card.
  • Send your cash or check donation via your child's Friday folder. Note: Please make checks payable to Conn PTA
