The Conn PTA strives to support our teachers both in and outside the classroom. Each teachers’ needs are unique, and our classroom parents work with their teacher to determine how best to support. Examples of how a classroom parent may support a teacher are:
- Serving as a communication liaison to all parents
- Coordinating in-classroom volunteers
- Organizing special events
- Collecting donations and supplies for events
- Updating the classroom wish list
Classroom Parents have been assigned to each room for the 25/26 school year. Be on the lookout from communications from your teacher about how to connect with the Classroom Parent.
Each of our grade levels would love your help! Typical support needed is clerical support (e.g. copying, cutting and laminating, preparing materials, book organization, etc.) and/or working with small groups.
Sign up for the teacher you'd like to support and a morning or afternoon shift. The morning shift is during literacy and the afternoon is during math (with the exception of 4th grade which does math in morning and literacy in the afternoon), so small group instruction would be around those topics.
In addition to signing up, make sure to communicate directly with the teacher regarding your upcoming volunteering.
